Fees add up quietly
On a $24 item with $5 shipping, Etsy's US transaction, processing and listing fees come to about $3.21 (rates checked 25 Oct 2026). Offsite Ads can add 12–15% more on the orders they apply to.
Costs hide in the price
Materials, packaging, postage and your own time all come out before you see a profit. Most shop stats don't subtract them.
Guessing feels safer than it is
